Analysis Paralysis and Creativity

I’m feeling like I have a little bit of analysis paralysis these days. Now that the garden harvesting has slowed down, the herbs are mostly dormant and flowers are dead, I finally have time to work on the creative projects and plans I have had all summer. My herb-infused oils are all ready to be used and made into salves and lip balms. My dried herbs are ready to be used as ingredients or put into final storage situations. My tea blend ingredients are all available, I just need to start mixing things together! Well, I’m having a hard time starting.

My husband and I have an upcoming community vendor show in November. He makes hot sauces and spice blends as a hobby-turned-side business, called Pit Stain LLC and I had planned on selling my herbal products. That is one month away. We have a decent stock of his spice blends, one sauce and finally just cooked 3 GALLONS of our secret ingredient. It’s a good start, as now our residual sauce recipes can be created.

I think I just need to make a list and put it out there in the universe….if I publish it, I have to get it done right? I’m beholden and held accountable to someone, somewhere, who reads this.

  • Mix skin salves/balms

  • Mix lip balms

  • Make tea blends

  • Create labels

  • Source additional packaging needs

  • Help cook other sauces and bottle them

  • Update backend of website to sell leftovers after show

So many oils and tinctures are ready!

I’ll check back in on myself in a couple days. I feel better already. Thanks for reading!
