I Made a Podcast
Yup. I did it!
I love listening to podcasts and lately have really wanted to try my hand at it. I listen to all the well known garden podcasts, true crime, and some odd-ball genres just to learn something new.
Since I’m growing Katiebird’s Garden presence online, I only think the next step in doing so is hosting a podcast. I recorded (do others want to still say “taped?”) my first episode and it was a lot of work for only slightly less than 7 minutes! I’m realizing that writing out a script is very helpful since I’m not one to naturally wax poetic for long periods of time. Recording on the iphone works pretty well. I haven’t invested any money into the show so far, but I’m realizing that if I want higher quality tracks, a microphone is probably needed in the future. I also need to set up a podcast room or space that is covered in fabric or something similar. My son actually has a giant down comforter set up as a wall on his bunkbed and it struck me as a very good place to try my next recording!
Of course, my #1 fan, my mom(!) gave me a glowing review! I hope others think its interesting and will want to follow it/subscribe, etc. for future episodes. Future topics include MN garden planning, discussions, herbal creations, suburban homesteading and lots more.
You can find my podcast on Apple Podcasts (podcast symbol is linked at the top of my site,) Google Podcasts and Spotify. Just search out, Katiebird’s Garden and it should come right up! If not, you can always find it on my website here.
